What We Learned Building Our Own Digital Products
Building software for someone else teaches you delivery. Operating your own product teaches you consequences.

When we launched our own products, we inherited every downstream problem: users who don't read, support requests at midnight, growth curves that flatten without warning.
Three lessons that stuck
- Distribution is a product feature. If nobody can find it, quality is irrelevant.
- Retention exposes the truth. Acquisition can be bought; returning users cannot.
- The unglamorous middle — onboarding, empty states, error messages — decides adoption more than the headline feature.
Why it matters for clients
We advise from experience, not theory. When a client asks whether a feature is worth building, we've paid the price of guessing wrong on our own balance sheet.
